Welcome to The Children’s Courtyard at Brookmont, located within the Brookmont subdivision on Chapel Hill Road in Douglasville, GA. My name is Alyssa and I am the Campus Director. I have worked in early childhood for eight years, six of which have been with Learning Care Group, and I have a bachelor’s degree in early childhood and childhood education.
Our educational daycare offers Infant Care, Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten and other early education options, as well as Before- and After-School care for School-Age students. Our Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten, and School-Age are Tech+Tinker classrooms, where we combine hands-on exploration with digital tools that enhance our world and our ability to solve problems in new and different ways. These classrooms have iPads with educational apps that build math and literacy skills, robots for coding, and a flat screen TV with a gaming system for our Grow Fit initiative.
We offer many flexible options for working families, including full time care, part time care, half days, and Flex care, where you pay based on attendance! We would love to accommodate your changing schedules. We’re committed to providing simple ways to keep you connected throughout the day while your child is in our care. With live streaming video, you can view your child’s classroom from any device or computer. Plus, get real-time updates with our family communication app.
Our loving and dedicated staff members take part in training throughout the year to stay current in the field of early childhood education.
We closely follow recommendations from state and local authorities, to maintain a clean, safe, healthy environment.
I invite you to come in for a tour of our Children’s Courtyard in Douglasville, GA. We look forward to meeting you!
Are you concerned about the impact of COVID on your child’s education? You’re not alone. Now, more than ever, early education matters. We’re here to help.
Starting at the front door, our already robust health and safety procedures have been enhanced to ensure a clean, welcoming school environment. The well-being of your child is our top priority, now, and always.
Elective programs allow students to learn by exploring creative outlets that will help them advance in the future—while giving your family more free time on evenings and weekends. We offer:
Soccer, Music, Yoga, Spanish, Phonics, Handwriting & Advanced Math
In this classroom, your child will make discoveries and think independently, as we prepare them for the future. The authentic Montessori curriculum enables children to learn in their own way, at their own pace, through the practical application of sensory-based and self-directed activities. Our certified Montessori teacher spends significant time with each child, helping them discover unique talents and interests. Plus, a full complement of Montessori equipment offers tangible, hands-on learning opportunities to develop children’s skills and senses.
This mixed-aged classroom (for 3- to 6-year-olds) also helps children to develop social skills and challenges them to learn to work together—while being mindful of the best interests of others.
Ask your school director for additional details.
Discover opportunities to be creative, engage your mind and body, collaborate with friends, and learn new things. Preschool and Pre-K classroom enhancements include iPads with educational apps; flexible seating options so children can move as they learn; hands-on STEAM activities; robots for early coding.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and Childhood Education
When I started working in early childhood education, I knew this was my calling! I love bringing happiness and silliness into the classroom. I also love working and training with other early educators who share a passion for teaching young ones! Fun fact: I am obsessed with sloths!
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Communications
Hi! I'm Jamion Johnson and I was born and raised in Akron, Ohio. I obtained a bachelor's degree in communications with an emphasis in interpersonal communication. Prior to Learning Care Group, I managed in the hospitality industry and worked in banking. I started my journey with LCG in March 2019 by working at a Tutor Time in Ohio as an assistant School-Age teacher. This led to a full-time lead teacher position and full time chef for the center as well. Fun fact, cooking is my vice!
