Private Kindergarten

Building a Solid Foundation for Elementary School

If you enroll in Private Kindergarten at The Children’s Courtyard, know one thing: From day one, the goal of our school is to help your child prepare for his or her own day one of elementary school — and the years beyond.

We do that with dedicated teachers who guide and help the children in age-appropriate activities designed to help prepare them socially and intellectually for school.

Combining our High/Scope philosophy, with Houghton Mifflin’s Journeys® curriculum, Handwriting without Tears®, and Everyday Mathematics® we build a solid foundation in literacy, mathematics and other basic skills that are crucial to future success in school. And we balance more personalized instruction with active play, class participation and exploration so kids learn more — and love it.

Each Private Kindergarten classroom is a warm and inviting environment arranged in these learning centers:

  • Reading and literacy
  • Math
  • Dramatic play
  • Experimentation
  • Building
  • Computers
  • Spatial learning

Children must be 5 years old on or before September 1 in order to qualify for Private Kindergarten. If your child is not age eligible for Private Kindergarten, ensure they are ready for school with our Accelerated Pre-Kindergarten program.

At The Children’s Courtyard we encourage parents to learn more about the quality child care and education we bring to our Private Kindergarten programs. Find one of our child care centers near you or schedule a tour to see for yourself.
