Junior Counselors

At the heart of our High/Scope child care philosophy is the concept of “learning by doing,” and there is no better example than The Children’s Courtyard Jr. Counselor Program. In this unique program, your 11- to 13-year-old will learn leadership, team building and social skills. Our Jr. Counselors plan and implement special events, participate in community service projects and work with other counselors in the area. Children participate in:

• Community involvement and volunteerism
• Planning and implementing activities for younger school-age groups
• Mentoring early readers
• Assisting in creating calendars and newsletters for the school-age programs
• Slumber parties and overnight outings
• Adopting an assisted living center

There are even area-wide events, special activities and field trips just for those in the program. The Jr. Counselor Program will make for meaningful experiences that really matter.
