Our Child Care Philosophy
A Hands-On Philosophy that Develops a Love of Learning
The child care curriculum at The Children’s Courtyard adheres to the High/Scope philosophy, based on the groundbreaking work of developmental psychologist Jean Piaget. Like Piaget, we believe that children learn best by doing — through hands-on experiences with people, materials, events and ideas.
We believe this outcome-oriented approach enhances children’s growth in the foundations of academics as well as social, emotional, physical and creative areas, an approach to learning we call Whole Child Education.
At The Children’s Courtyard, we:
- Inspire inquisitiveness and develop a love for learning in students of all ages.
- Provide individualized child care for every child and active learning opportunities.
- Hire knowledgeable and dedicated teachers who understand developmental growth patterns and create activities that encourage emerging skills without frustration or fear of failure.
- Provide a warm and inviting environment that gives children room to grow and room to play.
- Partner with families to make them a critical part of the teaching team.
Above all, our programs are designed to help each child reach his or her full potential and to approach learning with enthusiasm, persistence and joy.
