We're ready to make sure your child is, too

Better trained teachers mean better prepared kids - that’s our belief at The Children’s Courtyard. Our teachers get to know the children, understand their strengths and interests, and plan activities that build foundational concepts in engaging, interesting ways. In addition to the 3 Rs, we help them grow socially and emotionally too, so that they’re ready for - and excited about - the academic years to come.

Good foundations build better students

In addition to the High/Scope Active Learning Framework®, we use the DLM Express® Curriculum, which is correlated to the Texas Pre-Kindergarten guidelines and includes lessons over many discipline areas. Children are introduced to the same concepts in different ways, so they internalize the lessons and learn to reason. Here are just a few of the topics we cover to prepare children for school:

  • FOUNDATIONAL CONCEPTS: Shapes, colors, following directions.
  • LANGUAGE DEVELOPMENT: Letters, sounds, words, stories, retention.
  • MATH DEVELOPMENT: Matching, sorting, recognizing numbers, counting.
  • SOCIAL LEARNING: Collaboration, sharing, helping, supporting each other, listening to directions.
  • MOTOR SKILLS: Using tools, forming shapes, letters and numbers, physical play.
  • LIFE SKILLS: Tidying up, respect, participation, accepting responsibility, community involvement.

At The Children’s Courtyard, children learn to be better people, and get the basis they need to be successful in kindergarten and beyond.
