Preschool
Building Knowledge, Building Confidence
Research shows that children build knowledge appropriate to their development when they actively explore and interact with their environment. This is especially true between the ages of 2 and 3. That’s why The Children’s Courtyard teachers and classrooms provide ample opportunities for children to learn, grow, and develop their skills confidently and comfortably.
Our teachers learn a lot, too. They observe each child and note interests and skills so they can plan a predictable yet flexible routine for active and quiet learning. Using our High/Scope philosophy of “learning by doing” as our guide, we follow a curriculum based on The Complete Resource for Preschool® as support for our program.
Each Preschool classroom includes:
- Open areas
- Learning centers: literacy, emergent math, science, dramatic play, sensory, art, manipulative exploration and construction
- Books, toys, blocks and puzzles
- Computers
- Story props
At The Children’s Courtyard we encourage parents to learn more about the quality care and education we bring to our preschool programs. Find a school near you or request a visit to see for yourself.
